This year we have decided to homeschool Matthew for pre-school. We are loving it~!
Matthew has a real zest for learning. He loves to read (look at books, starting to learn to read now), writing, and even more recently numbers. On a day when he was being rather stubborn and not really trying with his schoolwork, I explained that he needed to be a good student. He asked why, well, being Matthew's momma and teacher gives me a huge advantage. I know what works with him! In our discussion I explained that if he wanted to be a builder someday, he must know how to read, write, count, learn, problem solve, etc... this brought a whole new perspective to our lessons that day and the ones that have followed.
He tells people that he has to learn so that he can be a builder.
Whatever works! :)
If you are homeschooling, let me know, let's get together and have a field trip or get together!
are we a high achiever or what?!
Matthew working on shapes and staying in the lines while he colors
Matthew's first painting of the United States of America flag... he decided to make one star to represent the 50 stars. He is learning about the flag, as we are starting with the history of America this month. He is also memorizing the Pledge of Allegiance. The things that these kids can soak up. I just marvel at his desire to learn and check into new things,
it is fun I am learning too!
